Candidates must satisfy the medical standards prescribed for the particular Level-1 post.
Candidates must possess the prescribed qualification on or before the closing date of application. The post parameters in Annexure-A specify 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Candidates waiting for the final result of the prescribed educational qualification are not eligible to apply. The qualification must have been obtained by the closing date of application.
Course Completed Act Apprentices trained in Railway Establishments have specific provisions in the notification, including exemption from the Physical Efficiency Test as prescribed.
The age of candidates should be between 18 and 33 years as on 01-01-2026, subject to the post parameters and age-relaxation rules given in CEN No. 09/2025.
Age relaxation is available to eligible reserved categories and other specified categories as per the rules mentioned in the official notification.

RRB Group D Level-1 recruitment consists of a Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification and Medical Examination. The notification also reserves the right to conduct the CBT in single-stage or multi-stage mode.
The CBT is an objective type multiple-choice examination. The notification specifies 100 questions of one mark each.

CBT is conducted in computer-based mode.
There are 100 objective questions in the CBT.
Standard examination duration is 90 minutes.
1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.
Candidates qualifying in the CBT are shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test. PET is followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.

Computer Based Test is the written examination stage.
Candidates shortlisted through CBT undergo the Physical Efficiency Test.
Shortlisted candidates are required to undergo Document Verification.
