SSC MTS recruitment includes Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff posts and Havaldar posts in CBIC and CBN.
Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff is a General Central Service Group 'C' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries, Departments, Offices and other Government bodies.
Havaldar is a General Central Service Group 'C' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN).

The nature of work depends upon the department and post to which the candidate is allocated.
Candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board.
Candidates must satisfy the nationality / citizenship requirements prescribed by SSC.
18 to 25 years for MTS.
18 to 27 years for Havaldar and certain MTS posts.
PET / PST is applicable to candidates appearing for the Havaldar post.
Candidates must have passed the Matriculation Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board on or before the cut-off date specified in the notification.
For the SSC MTS & Havaldar Examination 2024, the educational qualification was required as on 01-08-2024.
Candidates possessing equivalent educational qualifications must produce the relevant equivalence certificate from the concerned authorities when required.
For MTS posts, the age limit is generally 18–25 years.
For Havaldar in CBIC and CBN and a few MTS posts, the age limit is 18–27 years.

Eligible Persons with Benchmark Disabilities may receive reservation benefits, scribe assistance and compensatory time according to the provisions specified by the Government and SSC.

There is no negative marking in Session-I. In Session-II, 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer.

The application fee is ₹100. Women candidates and eligible SC, ST, PwBD and ESM candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.
